About Ciao Rider
A free help network for cyclists in Flanders. Bike trouble on the road? There's always someone nearby willing to help.
Why we built this
Anyone who cycles knows the feeling: a flat tire far from home, a chain slipping off on a country road, or simply not knowing how to carry on. Calling roadside assistance is expensive and slow.
But chances are there's a cyclist nearby who can get you going again in five minutes. Ciao Rider brings those two people together.
Cyclists helping cyclists
Ciao Rider isn't a company with service vans, and there's no subscription. It's a community — ordinary cyclists lending each other a hand. Fixing a flat, putting a chain back on, or just keeping someone company until help arrives.
Helping is free, and so is asking for help. You always decide whether and when you respond.
Safety first
We build Ciao Rider around trust. Every profile has a photo and a name, both sides can leave a review after each interaction, and you always decide who helps you.
In case of a fall or an unsafe situation, the app points you straight to the right emergency services. A volunteer never replaces the emergency services — when in doubt, always call 112.
Powered by Madam Vélo
Ciao Rider is an initiative by Madam Vélo, the cycling community for women in Belgium. For years a home for cyclists who look out for each other — and the place where the idea for Ciao Rider was born.
